I was recently listening to a Mel Robbins podcast about how do you measure success? The question was “Do you measure success by how much money or profit you’ve made, or how many amazing and brilliant people you connected with, or maybe it’s how much fun you had doing what you were doing.”

Of course, a combination of all of these things is ideal. However, I’m not sure people put enough emphasis on how much fun they are having doing what they’re doing. And yet it should be a priority.

In fact, Jen Sincero, the Badass Book Author-recently too mentioned the topic of are you having fun doing what you are doing? It seems to suddenly be a popular focus.

I remember early on in life, I made the decision that I wasn’t going to do any type of work or projects that didn’t bring me joy and gratification. Life is too short to be doing anything you don’t really enjoy.

I can honestly say with my most recent and still current project-executive producing and touring with the award-winning movie Show Her The Money, this endeavor continues to be not only impactful, but super fun!

Time for us to all focus on how success truly can be measured by how much fun you are having doing what you’re doing?

When you get up in the morning, does it drive you every day with a sense of purpose and joy? Do you feel like you’re making an impact? Are you collaborating with like-minded people who fuel you?

The answer to this on my movie project is yes. Wherein we traveled around the world on our 100 City tour and met the most incredible people on the planet- who were like-minded and driven toward the same purpose we are-which is getting more women funded. This has been super fun and inspiring.

It has been incredibly fulfilling to meet and befriend those who invested in the film and believed in this project. They were all incredible in their own right- and thus it was a lot of fun creating impact together.

Our most recent fun project was releasing our Show Her The Money book. The book features the extraordinary stories of the women in the movie and the women and men who invested in the movie that we call our associate producers, that made the film possible.

It’s available here: Amazon https://shorturl.at/EQYQ0

We continue to have fun, combining our screenings with the book tour! We are utilizing these media assets to educate and inspire people about venture capital, why women are getting just 2% of VC funding, and how we can all be a catalyst to changing that situation. That’s our mission and our movement.

You need to analyze your current business, job, or endeavor. Take inventory. Are you feeling the joy your daily activities are bringing you? Are you feeling grateful for the people in your circle and those that you’re meeting every day? Do you get up in the morning excited knowing that what you’re doing is going to create an impact? And are you having fun doing what you were doing? It’s a good idea to stop and take inventory.

So, every day, week, year- when assessing what you’re doing with your work life, ask yourself that very important question: “Are you having fun?” And measure your success by that standard!

Sounds like fun, right?!
